Funeral services for Dorothy Minor were held Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Bram-Turner Funeral Home, Maysville, with burial in Shambaugh-Cope Cemetery, Weatherby. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maysville Methodist Church, Comfort Care Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association.
Dorothy Minor, 95, Maysville, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at her home.
She was born to the late Roy and Mary (Rainey) Jarrett, on Dec. 6, 1916, in Gallatin.
She graduated from Gallatin High school and attended college in Cameron, and William Jewell College where she met her husband, the late Carl Allen Minor. They married Jan. 3, 1941
Carl and Dorothy lived in many places as a Navy family, including Kansas City, and Adak, Alaska, before relocating to Maysville in 1963.
Dorothy taught school in a one room school house near Gallatin. She was a member the United Methodist Church of Maysville, PEO, Red Hat Society, and the Fortnightly Book Club.
Survivors include her two children, Allen Minor, Weatherby, and Sue Ann Page, Maysville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
