The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced Route J in Daviess County will close on Tuesday, May 29 for a bridge replacement project.
Route J will close at the Dog Creek bridge located approximately three miles south of Altamont. The bridge will close to all traffic for approximately six weeks during construction. Motorists will need to use alternate routes during this closure.
This project is being done under the Missouri Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program which will replace 190 bridges in Northwest Missouri by the end of 2013. In Daviess County, 15 bridges will be replaced or repaired under the Safe & Sound Program. Thirteen of the bridges have been completed.
