Betty Ann Youtsey, 84 of Kirksville, Mo., formerly of Gallatin passed away Wednesday, May 2 2012 at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia. Services were held at 11a.m. Saturday, May 5, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Burial was in the Floral Hills Cemetery in, Raytown, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center in care of the Funeral Home.

Betty was born Jan. 14, 1927 to Samuel and Ennis (Neff) Davis in Saline County, Mo. Betty was the youngest of eleven kids. She graduated from St. Peters Catholic School in Marshall, Mo. After graduation Betty moved to Kansas City and was employed at Burroughs as a secretary for several years. She later worked at Sinclair and Valentine as a purchasing clerk retiring in 1989. After retirement Betty moved to Gallatin to be near family. Betty was united in marriage to John Donald (Jay) Youtsey April 26, 1993 in Gallatin where the couple made their home. He preceded her in death May 22, 2008. Betty continued to live in Gallatin until 2011 when she moved to Kirksville to be near her daughter Carla.

Betty was a member of the Gallatin Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed the fellowship she shared with her church family. She also served as a representative on the Silver Haired Legislature for several years where she devoted her time and talents working for senior citizens. On any given day you could find Betty volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center. She was always eager to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Betty enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved to make jelly and preserves. Many a Wednesday night you could find Betty and her friends enjoying taco night at the Southside. She adored her family and greatly enjoyed the time she spent with them. Betty was an inspiration and was always there to brighten the lives of others. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her ten siblings, daughter, Billie Doying and husband John D. Youtsey.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla (Eddy) Stewart of Brashear, Mo., step-son, Wesley (Kim) Youtsey of Lewisville, Texas, grandchildren, Samantha, Katie and Nathaniel Stewart, David and Jason Doying and Madelyn Youtsey and several nieces and nephews.
