May 4 – SNAP Advocate 10-1; May 9 – Medicare Boot Camp in Gallatin; May 11 – Blood Pressure/Sugar Checks 11-12; May 15 – Area Wide Elections 9-2.

Medicare Boot Camp is May 9 for anyone who is interested in how Medicare works. Call Vera or Deanna at 660-663-2828 for more information.

Area Wide elections will be held Tuesday, May 15, at 109 S Main Street, Gallatin. The polls will be open from 9-2. Ballots can be cast for the NWMO AAA Board of Directors, Advisory Council, Silver Haired Legislature, and our own Board of Directors. Any Daviess County resident age 60 and over is eligible to vote.

The Circuit Court and Circuit Clerk’s offices provided cakes for our birthday celebration.

We are having a Hand Made Quilt Raffle. Tickets are available at the center for a donation of $1 each or six for $5. Drawing is May 11.

Walking Challenge! –– We are challenging people to walk. Walk from May through September. Keep track of your mileage, and be entered for prizes. You can register (and get a free pedometer if age 60 or over) at the Active Aging Resource Center, the Pattonsburg Multi-Purpose Center, or the Daviess County Health Department.

Menus May 7-11

Monday: phillie cheese steak sandwich with onions and peppers, creamed corn, pineapple with bananas; Tuesday: pork ribs, cheesy potatoes, mixed vegetables, Mandarin oranges; Wednesday: pasta and meat sauce, lettuce salad, garlic toast, peaches; Thursday: oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, apple cobbler; Friday: chef salad, crackers, grape juice, peach shortcake.
