CDSE third graders and Gallatin BTC partnered up to deliver April’s character traits of the month, "perseverance," and "confidence." Together they expressed the importance of being confident and persevering during the state assessments, MAP test and Stanford 10 Achievement test, by "Stick 2 It! U Can Do It!". Third graders performed a special cheer with Champ the Bulldog and BTC bank employees, and sang a song to the tune of "Locomotion" all the while duct taping Principal Toni Cox to the wall. Last week, CDS Second grade students completed the Stanford 10 Achievement test, which tested them in the areas of reading comprehension, reading vocabulary, word study skills, spelling, language, listening, environment, mathematics problem solving and mathematics procedures. Third through sixth grade students completed the MAP test, a state assessment, in the areas of communication arts, mathematics, and science (fifth grade only). All students took the test with confidence and persevered through the long week of testing.
