Daviess County Route E will be closing on Monday, April 2, for a bridge replacement project over Grindstone Creek. The road will close at the Grindstone Creek bridge, located approximately one-half mile east of the Daviess / Dekalb County line near Santa Rosa. The road will close for six to eight weeks during construction. Motorists will need to use alternate routes during this closure.

The bridge project is being done under the Missouri Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program which is scheduled to improve 802 of Missouri’s bridges by the end of 2013. In Daviess County, 15 bridges are scheduled for improvement. Eleven of the 14 projects have been completed and the remaining projects will be completed this construction season.
The following is a listing of general highway maintenance work in Daviess County for the week of March 19-16. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the planned work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.
Route KK – pothole patching from U.S. Hwy 69 to the end of the route, March 19-20, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Route Z – pothole patching from U.S. Hwy 69 to Route A (Gentry), March 19-20, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Route D – pothole patching from Route J to Route CC, March 19-23, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Route HH – pothole patching from Route CC to Route 13, March 19-23, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Route V – pothole patching from Route 13 to Route 190, March 21-22, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
