Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to attend the Active Aging Resource Center’’s Programs for Older Adults.
Cathy Bryant from the Missouri Department of Rehabilitation Services for the Blind will offer free glaucoma screenings as well as information on vision issues. Cathy will have assistive devices to show and will be able to set up an in-home evaluation. If eligible, services from the Rehabilitation for the Blind are free.
Gallatin Police Chief Richards and Sherriff Becerra will provide helpful information on personal safety in the spring and summer months ahead. They will have helpful hints as well as some free personal safety items to be given out. Chief Richards will also be accepting unused and expired medications.
Blood pressure checks will be provided by the Daviess County Health Department from 11-12.
Lunch is served from 11:30 to 12:30 where adults 60 and over may eat for a suggested contribution of $3 and those under 60 may eat for $6.
The monthly Birthday and Anniversary celebration will be held after lunch with cake and ice cream provided by the Daviess County Treasurer’’s office. Entertainment will be by Gallatin High School students.
A drawing will be held for a large-key low vision phone provided by Windstream Communications.
