Pattonsburg’s Water Superintendent Eddy Meador explained to the Board of Aldermen that the city has reached stage three with the new well during their meeting held Wednesday, Feb. 15. The sample test well site is pumping around 400 gallons per minutes (gpm). Crews are waiting on Department of Natural Resources (DNR) water sample results to come back before moving forward. So far everything looks good, Meador said, and is operating under proposed cost.
Meador said the water plant needs repairs performed and some preventive actions taken to keep problems from recurring. Two windows need to be repaired due to rain water entering around the seal. An awning needs to be placed over the existing dock were the chemicals are brought into the water plant. The awning will keep the rain water from entering under the double doors and act as a dock for the drivers to unload their chemical deliveries. An ad was placed in the Gallatin North Missourian to take bids for this work to be done.
Each city employee was given a raise of 75 cents an hour.
The trash rate was set at $11.50.
A maintenance agreement was accepted with Cummins Central Power. The agreement is in regards to two sewer generators and one generator at the water plant.
The annual budget for water works revenue was adjusted after the city received the settlement money from the MTBE litigations.
City Clerk Karen Shepherd has emailed the lease agreement between the Pattonsburg R-2 School and the City of Pattonsburg for approval to Chris Buckland with DNR Parks Department. On the same day DNR approves the lease agreement, it will go in to effect.
The board agreed to work with Green Hills Community Action Agency Youth Work Program for summer help.
The council members decided to donate out of their own pocket to project prom.
Shepherd informed the council of her vacation plans.
Bills were reviewed and paid.
The board entered into executive session.
