A Utica man was moderately injured in an accident that happened at about 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, in Caldwell County.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two vehicles were eastbound on Hwy. 36 — a 2010 Ford Edge driven by Deanna Riley, 62, of Kidder, and a 2002 Buick Century driven by Jeffrey McCoy, 33, of Utica. Riley’s vehicle was in the turning lane preparing to turn north onto Route J. The McCoy vehicle traveled into the turning lane and struck the rear of the Riley vehicle.
The Riley vehicle came to rest in the turning lane. The McCoy vehicle continued eastbound into the median and off the right side of eastbound Hwy. 36.
McCoy was taken by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Hospital. He was wearing his seat belt.
Both vehicles were moderately damage.
