There are 23 individuals who qualify for the drawing by making the best predictions on games played during the 8-week period of the contest. Some of these were weekly winners more than once, thus their names will appear more than once in the drawing (the count shown in parenthesis below).

Other Wizards from Daviess County are Luetta Vogel and Scott Mullen of Pattonsburg, Brent Burke of Altamont, and Corey Green of Jamesport.

Other Wizards in the ticket drawing are Jaycee Higdon of Savannah; Paul Plowman (2) of Weatherby; Ray Jackson (2) and Angie Bonderer (2) of Chillicothe; Ched Hurley of Trenton,

Richard Fields (3) of Braymer; Franklin Figg (2) of Hale; Todd Steward (2) of Warrensburg; Mitch Dougan of Trenton; Logan Dunkin of Spickard; and Nathaniel Shaw (2) of Columbia.

Tickets to be given away are for Game 7 and Game 8 of the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament to be played on Friday, March 9, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. The just-for-fun contest focused on NCAA Division 1 men’s games played during the regular basketball season just now concluding.

Major funding for the contest was provided by Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri. Other sponsors include Eichler’s Tax Service of Gallatin and Hy-Vee of Chillicothe. This contest was presented on GPCink.com, the new website recently launched by Gallatin Publishing Company.

The drawing will be conducted later this week. A presentation of the tickets will be made by representatives of Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri.

"We’re pleased that this contest attracted so many participants from a wide area," says publisher Darryl Wilkinson. "We wanted it to be an easy, fun way to follow college basketball before the frenzy of ‘March Madness’ grips the sports world."

Excitement for the 2012 Road to the Final Four is already building. This year’s NCAA tournament brackets will be determined on Sunday, March 11. The national tournament concludes with the championship game played in New Orleans on Monday, April 2.

Look for the ‘Bracket Madness’ contest to be featured in the Ad Zone distributed March 13-14 and online on GPCink.com – but note: entries must be turned in on or before 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, when the first games of the tournament begin.

Complete details about the online contest will be announced in the Ad Zone next week. The contest will be simple: pick a team to win each of the four regional brackets. Then choose your semifinal winners and national champion. The contest winner will be awarded $25 – and earns braggin’ rights for an entire year!
