Ann and Gene Schweizer will be honored for 50 years of marriage from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at an open house in the Gallatin Bingo Hall.

Vicki, of the home; Beth and Jeff Plotner of Germany, children, Chelsea and Ian of FSU in Tallahassee, Fla., Sean of Fort Rucker, Ala.; Ray of Fort Myers, Fla.,; and Steven and Macon, Declan, Owen, Draygan and Olivia of Gallatin; and Betty Trimm invite Ann and Gene’s friends and other relatives to come and celebrate with the whole family.

Ann and Gene were married March 11, 1962, at her family’s residence, the A.T. Ray home in Gallatin. Performing the ceremony was Harold "Pep" Bruce, First Christian Church minister, with Gene’s sister and brother, Sue and Richard, standing up with the couple.

Others present for the 5 p.m. wedding were parents, R.L. and Winona Trimm and Ralph and Marie Schweizer; Ann’s maternal grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa "Down the Alley" Lial and Lucile Dowell, and great-grandfather, Isaac Dowell; paternal grandmother, Alma Morgan; and Ann’s siblings, Jane, Kay, Steve and Sue, and Gene’s sister, Janet, and sister-in-law, Judy, and son, Richie.

Following the exchange of their vows, supper was served in the home dining room, then the wedding cake was cut and traditionally fed to each other. The couple honeymooned in St. Joseph at the Shangri-La Motel. [Submitted Photo]
