Six students in grades five through eight from North Daviess R-3 traveled to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville to participate in the NAFME Junior High Music Festival on Saturday, Feb. 11. Students from North Daviess earned outstanding ratings at this event.

Blythe Hunter achieved a rare accomplishment for her trumpet solo. She earned a I+ Rating from the judge for a truly exceptional performance.

Superior Performance Awards were awarded signifying truly outstanding performances for the event and level evaluated. Students earning a I Rating are as follows: Brooke Dustman, eighth grade, flute solo; Jared Read, seventh grade, alto saxophone solo; Blythe Hunter, sixth grade, trumpet solo; Nathan Wynne, sixth grade, snare drum solo; and Dakota Boe, sixth grade, snare drum, solo.

Excellent Performance Awards were awarded signifying very good performances for the event and level evaluated. Students earning a II rating are as follows: Blythe Hunter, sixth grade, vocal solo; and Robyn Sprague, fifth grade, trombone solo.

Good Performance Awards were awarded signifying good performances for the event and level evaluated. Nathan Wynne, sixth grade, received a III Rating for his vocal solo.

Gail Drummond, vocal instructor and Bob Drummond, band instructor, indicated they were very proud and pleased with the performances given by North Daviess students.

North Daviess R-3 School, students and parents have much to be proud of in the performance of these students," the instructors said. "Congratulations to all the students as they all gained from the challenge of music performance."
