Sometimes friends or family need help because you don’t have the knowledge to do the job.

This was a situation Norma McCaulla and I found ourselves in. Trying to get our friend Lucille Foster living back in her apartment, after a fractured pelvis from a fall.

Making a number of phone calls with no results, I told Norma, “When all else fails, call the sheriff.” His answer: “I’ll see what I can do. I’ll get it taken care of.”

And sure enough Deputy Robert Mazur comes, gets everything working.

Thanks to home health, Melas on Wheels, OATS transportation, these kinds of programs now are helping Lucille and so many more to stay in their homes. And of course never forget people who just help each other.

Wouldn’t it be great if our politicians would take into consideration how much our different public service departments are needed and do.

Thank you, thank you, sheriff’s officers for all the ‘extras’ that you do all the time.

By the way, have you noticed how neat our officers always look!

Thank God, we have a caring people in our area.
