Superintendent Becky Morris reported on a teleconference from the governors’ office during the regular meeting of the North Daviess R-3 School Board held Jan. 16. Gov. Nixon is going to recommend $5 million increase in state funding for education. There will be more discussion on the school budget next month.
The financial statement was presented by Mrs. Morris. Bills were paid as presented.
There have been no bids submitted for snow removal.
Gregg Hartley reported on school assemblies, planning for winter coronation, and reading and math tutoring. The total enrollment for PK-12 is 70.
Mrs. Morris reported that varsity basketball is going well and the girls came in fourth in the Osborn Tournament.
A motion was made by Debbie Ray to go into executive session pursuant to employee matters and student matters.
The next school board meeting is Monday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. in Jameson.
Board members present were Cecil McCrary, Jessica Nelson, Debbie Ray, Jason Lewis, James Horner and Amanda Wynne. Board member absent was Lee Courter. Others presenter were Becky Morris and Charlotte Claussen.
