Two former Daviess County young people are teachers at the new $200,000 Northwestern High School in Mendon. They are William and Mary Margaret (Swaithes) McCrary. Mrs. McCrary is the home economics teacher and Mr. McCrary is a coach.High games in the Sunday Couples bowling league in Gallatin were by Evelyn Morrissey (170) and Ben Morrissey (212). Maxine Van Dyke rolled the high series (418).Despite double figure scoring from Keith Morrissey (18), Ken Youtsey (16) and Sam Curtis (12), the Gallatin Bulldogs fell to Stanberry, 65-59, in the championship game of the King City Tournament.Mercer’s Jeremy Michaelis leads the HDC Conference boys in scoring (30.2 ppg) and Mercer’s Carrie Hunt leads the conference girls scorers (18.3 ppg).Gallatin piled up a school record 11 medals in the GRC Wrestling Tournament. Austin Story, Andrew Parker, Justin Baker, Cody Boehm, John Runde, Klint Kloepping, Blake Parker, Tyler Nichols, Adam Strein, Rusty Hendricks and Austin Walker each medaled.
