The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Larry Hadley, former administrator of the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail, on Jan. 27. Hadley, 45, St. Joseph, was charged with two class C felonies, theft and theft of a firearm.

According to the probable cause statement filed by Daviess County Deputy Robert Mazur, on or around Jan. 3, 2011, Larry Hadley was dismissed from his position as jail administrator of the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail located in Pattonsburg. Hadley knowingly took a Model X26 Taser worth approximately $810 and a Walther Model P22 pistol worth approximately $330 with the intent of depriving the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail of this property. The items were purchased with Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail funds for use at the jail. The property has not been returned to the jail. Hadley has posted $30,000 bond.

Arraignment is at 9 a.m. on Feb. 22 at the Daviess County Courthouse.

The arrest stems from the ongoing investigation of the regional jail by the Daviess and DeKalb County Sheriff’s departments.
