County Commission

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission regarding projects planned this week and needed repairs around the county. They also discussed the need for new weight limit and bridge out signs for bridges. An order was placed.

David Allen, bridge department, met with the commission concerning locations needing brush removed.

Daren Adkins, associate circuit judge, reported on improvements to be made in the circuit court room on the third floor. Improvements will be paid from circuit funds.

Ben Becerra, sheriff, met with the commission regarding his move to the first floor. An inspection was made. They also discussed property.

In the afternoon, the Commission inspected a road in Colfax Township where the township is replacing a culvert. They also inspected bridges in Washington and Lincoln Townships for a BEAP study.

The commission contacted Dan Lockridge regarding work that needs to be done at the squirrel cage jail. Dead trees will be removed by the commission and the historical society will repair the windows. The sidewalk will be replaced by county employees.

Carl Carder reported that the state will begin the biennial bridge inspections this week.

These are the unapproved minutes of Jan. 3, 2012. Randy Sims, presiding commissioner, called this meeting of the January term to order. David Cox, first district commissioner, and Carl Carder, second district commissioner were in attendance. Minutes were approved.

Circuit Court

Civil cases filed: Toi Swartz et al vs. Steve Gabrielson Trucking et al, personal injury, vehicular; James L. Wayne vs. Marilyn and David Engelbrecht, mechanic’s lien.

The State of Missouri has filed certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, against Mark A. Shewmaker, Phillip Ray Steger, and Michael Gardner. The Division of Employment Security has filed transcript judgments against Robert Sutton and Teresa Ott.

Associate Division

Lynette D. Wright, Hamilton, was charged Dec. 29 with felony passing bad checks.

Civil Court

Breach of contract: HSBC Bank Nevada vs. Kathrine M. Hammontree was dismissed by the parties. Capital One Bank (USA) NA vs. Misschell C. Scott was dismissed by the court without prejudice.

Suit on account: A change of venue to Clinton County was granted in Capital One Bank vs. Jessica Hughes.

Marriages

Judge Daren Adkins officiated at two marriages on Dec. 27: Ryan Lee Thurman and Angela Sue Carter, both of Pattonsburg; Marc Aaron Maillet and Larisa Amy Wimmer, both of Elk City, Okla.

Sheriff’s Office

Jennifer N. Smith, 29, Gallatin, was arrested Jan. 3 for felony DWI, alcohol, persistent offender. She posted $15,000 bond.

Bond was revoked for Tyler Pickren, 19, Bethany, on Dec. 27, on an original charge of felony possession of controlled substance. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Dustin McDaniel, 19, Hamilton was arrested Jan. 4 when his bond was revoked on an original felony charge of tampering with motor vehicle. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Kyle Miller, 24, Independence, was arrested Jan. 3 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of passing bad checks. He is being held on $400 bond.

Kyle Decuer, 20, Kansas City, was arrested Dec. 28 for misdemeanor assault third degree. He is being held on $250 bond.

Jared Perkins, 26, Lock Springs, was arrested Jan. 1 for misdemeanor DWI. He was held for 12-hour detoxification, processed and released.

Joshua Roseman, 21, Liberty, was arrested Dec. 28 for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He is being held on $2,000 bond.
