"My goal when I was a young kid was to retire in my 50s," said Danny, who is now 56. "I guess I made it."
He added that his daughter Lacey is a senior at the University of Central Missouri and is playing her last year of college softball.
"I’d like to be able to travel and enjoy watching her play without having the worries of running a business," he said.
Danny owned a Sears store for 10 years in the same location as Breadeaux.
"I’ve been working with the public for 29 years," he said. "I’ve gained a lot of friends through my years of being in business. I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And I would like to thank my customers for their patronage."
Danny is in the process of trying to get the building sold. He said Breadeaux Pizza was a successful business, and he hopes someone will buy the building and equipment and reopen a restaurant.
Breadeaux, located at 400 N. Main Street in Gallatin, will serve customers on its last day, Thursday, Dec. 22.
