The luncheon was catered by Bill’s BBQ of Hamilton and was served while the crowd of over 200 people were entertained by the dance students performing, tap, jazz, pom, clogging, hip-hop and acro.

The students also hosted a silent auction of baskets to help those less fortunate during the holiday season. Vocal performances by Jade Steele and the Eaton sisters rounded out a full afternoon of entertainment, which even included a visit by Santa.

The students have made this annual recital an event for the community and school and most recently added a luncheon performance. Students from three to 17-year-old were the featured entertainment.

Funds from the recital were given to both Searcy Elementary and Gallatin High School to benefit those students needing some extra support. Donations from the recital were also given to the GHS basketball cheerleaders who helped serve at the event, and to the Gallatin FFA for their support in helping move equipment. Forty plus recital shirts were purchased through the FACs class to help with their FCCLA expenses throughout the year.

The students of the Dance Company also collected canned food for the food pantry shelves. The concept of this charity recital, started by Vera Nelson, owner and instructor of The Dance Company, was to allow the talents of the Dance Company to help benefit many people and organizations.

Both recital and competitive classes performed routines that helped start the holiday spirit. Many competitive solos were presented along with group numbers that will be performed during the 2012 competition season. The Dance Company will travel to competitions.
