Gallatin band placed eight of the 13 students who auditioned in either the District Junior High Band, the District High School Concert Band, or the District High School Honor Band, during district band auditions held Nov. 5 at Central High School in St. Joseph. Chad Robertson, Michael Youd, E.J. Owings, and Melinda Hess will be moving on to all-state band auditions at Hickman High School in Columbia. The 13 Gallatin band members auditioning were Jarod Rains, Coby Brogan, Ethan Lucas, C.J. Richards, Chad Robertson, Michael Youd, Jack Malo, Ty Hanson, Jasmine Ramirez, Melinda Hess, Wyatt Owings, E.J. Owings, and Jonah Flanders.
The following band members chaired: Junior High Band — Coby Brogan, 1st chair trombone; Ethan Lucas, 1st alternate trumpet; District High School Concert Band — Wyatt Owings, 9th chair flute; Jonah Flanders, 6th chair trombone; Jack Malo, 1st alternate on percussion option 1; Melinda Hess, 2nd chair B-flat clarinet and 1st chair E-flat alto clarinet; District High School Honor Band — Chad Robertson, 7th chair B-flat clarinet; Michael Youd, 4th chair trombone; E.J. Owings, 5th chair tuba; Melinda Hess, 1st alternate E-flat alto clarinet and 2nd alternate B-flat clarinet.
