Three people were hurt when a pickup and gravel truck collided about three miles west of Gallatin.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jeffrey Swartz was westbound on Hwy. 6 driving a 2006 Ford F250. Nathan Hampton was southbound on Route DD driving a 1999 Peterbuilt gravel hauler.

Hampton stopped at the stop sign, but then proceeded to cross Hwy. 6. His gravel truck came into the path of the pickup. The vehicles collided in the westbound lane. Both vehicles slid off of the southwest corner of the intersection where they came to rest upright.

Jeffrey Swartz, 56, Mooresville, received moderate injuries. A passenger in his pickup, Toi Swartz, 55, Mooresville, also received moderate injuries. They were not wearing their seat belts.

Nathan Hampton, 28, Chillicothe, had minor injuries. He was wearing his seat belt.

They were all taken by Daviess County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The accident was investigated by Cpl. P.M. Kimball, assisted by Sgt. M.A. Ott and the Daviess County Sherriff’s Office.
