Marguerite Blackburn, 90 of Columbia, formerly of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2011.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation was one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boone Hospital Foundation or the Daviess County Library, in care of the Funeral Home.
Marguerite was born Nov. 22, 1920 to Charles and Alta Boor. She graduated from Altamont High School in 1938 and lived most of her life in Gallatin. She married Marvin Blackburn on Jan. 26, 1946. The couple had two daughters, Mary Jane and Barbara Ann.
During World War II, Marguerite worked for the War Price and Rationing Board. Following the war she worked for Garner Insurance & Real Estate and was Assistant County Tax Collector. Later she served as secretary for Blackburn Motors, Inc.
Marguerite was a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was a member of the B.Q. Chapter, P.E.O. Sisterhood, loved to play bridge and enjoyed being a school and community volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, and two sisters, Vuna Frazier and Elsie Croy.
Her survivors include two daughters, Jane Blackburn and Dr. Joel Pratt of Unionville, Mo., Barbara Danuser and husband Dave of Columbia, Mo.; sister, Gladys Lunnon and husband Donald of Independence, Mo., brother, Loren Boor and wife LaVonne of Kansas City, Mo.
