On Oct. 19, 13 members from the Gallatin FFA Chapter boarded a charter bus with Advisor Chris Henderson, and 44 other FFA members and advisors to travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to attend the 84th annual National FFA Convention. The members attended convention sessions where they watched members and chapters be recognized for their accomplishments. They were able to listen to nationally renowned motivational speaker Dave Roever and hear how he has overcame injuries sustained in military service to our country and has been able to turn his situation into a positive.
While there, members also attended the FFA career show with over 1,000 booths set up by industry groups and colleges. The students also attended a concert as well as two industry tours in the Indianapolis area. On Saturday members were able to serve on the National FFA Convention Courtesy Corp and watch as Gallatin FFA members received the American FFA Degree.
Those members receiving the American FFA Degree were as follows, Casey Alden, Megan Chadwick, Shelby Chadwick, and Kyle Croy. Those members attending the convention this year were, Kelsey Bird, Jacob Bell, Megan Beck, Marissa McNeely, Kaley Cox, Alyison Widner, Kirbie Crouse, Riley Vanatta, Grace Von Opitz, Blake Cornett, Melinda Hess, Dane Brammer, and Tannah Terry.
