North Daviess R-3 moved the date of its Senior Carnival to Nov. 4, with the spaghetti supper starting at 5 p.m. and the carnival following.

In other business at the meeting of the North Daviess Board of Education held Monday, Oct. 17, one bid was received for the school bus from the Chris Heldenbrand family and was accepted by a vote of 4 yes; 1 abstain.

The financial statement was presented by Superintendent Becky Morris. Bills were paid as presented.

Some policies which have been previously approved, but updated, were presented The board approved ‘Communication with Students by Electronic Media.’

The substitute list was approved.

The accountability plan was presented.

A tornado drill and fire drill were held. Life Flight helicopter landed in the ball field and the Jameson fire truck arrived. Teacher inservices were held on Ruby Payne series. Representatives from NRPDC have been at the school for math and teacher training workshops. Faculty members have been to HDC network training and teacher academy. HDC Music Day at Ridgeway was held with grades 7-12 attending.

MAP incentive trip will be Nov. 9 to Powerplay in Kansas City.

JHBB has started in Pattonsburg. Winston Tournament started Oct. 18.

Vandalism to the bus parking area occurred the weekend of Oct. 15-16.

Board members present: Cecil McCrary, Debbie Ray, Jessica Nelson, James Horner and Amanda Wynne. Board members absent: Lee Courter and Jason Lewis.

Next board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14.
