Gallatin Board of Aldermen heard that Sept 24, Rapid Removal had placed trash containers at all residential properties within the city limits.

These containers were provided by the trash service; the city did not purchase them. Residents may use containers of their own for additional trash. If residents did not receive a container or if they have any questions, please call city hall at 663-2011.
Items for recycling may be placed out next to the trash to be picked up on the same day. The city is in the process of applying for a grant to get all residential customers a recycle container.
In other business at the board meeting held Sept. 26, Police Chief Mark Richards submitted a report on activity from Sept. 12-26. The following reports were taken and tickets given: one animal neglect; one deceased animal in road; four warrant arrests; three park building checks; one property damage; one child playing on phone; two assaults; one child abuse/neglect; three minor in possession of alcohol; one complaint of speeding on South Prospect; two cows out; one domestic; one recovered stolen vehicle; one trespassing; seven speeding; four assist medical; two curfew violations. There are four dogs in the pound.
Chief Richards stated Chautauqua went well, even with the bad weather.
Street Supervisor Teddy Holcomb said that the crews changed the filter media in the water plant last week. The industrial park has been cleaned up and mowed. This week he is hoping to patch holes in the streets. He also informed the board that a sand spreader will need to be purchased.
Bills in the amount of $19,314.91 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on the sewer plant; CDBG application for the water plant project; and a college addition property.
Discussion was held on the CI-RICE rule regarding diesel engines; on the current MOPEP capacity credits; and on the park board.
Terri Wright was appointed to the park board to replace Eddie Dutro’s term.
The city administrator discussed some ordinances that may be coming in the next meeting to update the code book. He will begin working on the budget for 2012.
The board entered into executive session pursuant to hiring, firing, discipline or promoting employees.
