Donald K. Ramsbottom, 68 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at his home.

Services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held 6-8p.m Wednesday evening at the Church. Friends may call after 11a.m. Wednesday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Gallatin, in care of the Funeral Home.

Don was born May 13, 1943 to Oren and Virginia (Hall) Ramsbottom at the family home in Gallatin. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1961 and began working for the Blackburn Motor Company in Gallatin as a mechanic. Don was united in marriage to Judy Stuebinger, July 20, 1968 in Gallatin where the couple lived all of their married life. In 1973, he began working for Donaldson’s Air Cleaner Manufacturing Company in Chillicothe as a welder; Don retired in 2005 after 32 years of dedicated service. In 1975 he purchased the Gallatin Car Wash where he spent many hours taking care of his customers needs. After retirement he expanded his business to include tire repair and car detail.

Don was a devoted member of the First Christian Church, serving as an Deacon for several years. He greatly enjoyed the fellowship he shared with his church family and was always eager to help when needed. Don was a Scout Master for Troop 67 leading the Troop for 10 years, for his dedication he was made an honorary member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was always interested in helping with the kids projects. Don enjoyed bowling and was on a league in Hamilton. He was an avid football fan and on any given Sunday afternoon you could find him watching his favorite team. He loved spending time with Emma Rose and looked forward to her visits. When time permitted he liked to fish and spend time outside. Don was a person of faith and lived life serving others; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Ramsbottom, and sister in-law, Willa Dean Ramsbottom.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judy of the home; son, Charlie Ramsbottom and wife Julie of Maysville, Mo; daughter, Amanda Ramsbottom of Gallatin; brother, Bob Rams bottom of Evansville, Ind., and granddaughter Emma Rose Ramsbottom.
