Dr. Ted Rights, a physician from Hamilton, announced his candidacy for the Missouri 6th District congressional seat where Republican Sam Graves of Tarkio now serves.
Dr. Rights was born in New Jersey in 1939. He is a 1966 graduate of Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Mich. He worked six years in medical missions in Central America before returning to become a public health physician in Pennsylvania in 1974. For the past 17 years he has worked for Cameron Regional Medical Center in rural health clinics in Hamilton, Jamesport, Pattonsburg and Polo.
During March, 2010, Dr. Rights briefly entered the Democratic primary but dropped out in favor of party candidate Clint Hylton.
