Derek Petty, 40, Savannah, will teach K-12 physical education.

Derek was born and raised in Corydon, Iowa. He graduated from high school at Wayne Community. He received his BS degree from NWMSU, and his masters in PE from Emporia State. He previously taught at Union Star R-2 for 17 years. His wife Rachel is employed at Union Star R-2. They have two children, Mason, 13, and Aniston, 19 months.

Kim Walters, rural King City, will teach special education for K-12. Kim was born and raised and graduated from high school in King City. She received her degree at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) at St. Joseph. She previously taught special education at Savannah R-3. Her husband Jeff is a truck driver. Their children are Kassie Hodge, who teaches nursing at NCMC; Jessica Flannery, who is a an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance in Maysville; Lacey Boone and Webber Walters, who both attend MWSU. She has seven grandchildren.

Kim Fish, 48, Bethany, will teach Spanish I at the high school. She was born and raised and graduated from high school at Archbold, Ohio. She received her BA in elementary and secondary education from Bluffton University, and her MA in romance languages from Louisiana Tech University. She previously taught schools in Ohio, Louisiana and at North Daviess. Her husband Lanse works at PSF. They have two children, Zachary, 17, and Joshua 14.

Kayli Warner, 26, Gallatin, will teach second grade. Kayli was born and raised in Gallatin and graduated from its high school. She received her degree in elementary education from Graceland. She student taught at Searcy Elementary in Gallatin. Her children are Kennedy, 4, Michael, 1, and Hudson, two weeks.
