The Area Governing Board of Green Hills Community Action Agency, (GHCAA) met on Aug. 9, in the Trenton area office. Consent agenda items consisting of minutes from previous meetings and budgets for the women’s shelter were approved.

A Public Housing Agency Committee meeting was held prior to the regular board meeting. The board heard an update on the possible roll out of the women’s shelter program. The tentative date for the transition is Oct. 1.

Tyson Otto, Acting Co-CEO gave an update on the progress that has been made by the transition team consisting of Otto, Terri Henderson, Acting Co-CEO, and Don Warren, former Executive Director for GHCAA.

Janelle Tjarks, CFO, gave up update on the agency cash flow which is improving, as well as financial statements.

The board appointed Terri Henderson to the Missouri Association of Community Action (MACA) to fill an unexpired term for Scott Long, former CEO for GHCAA. A social enterprise venture was presented by Ms. Henderson. The board voted to pursue this venture which involves performing energy audits and weatherization work for the general public.

The board discussed filling of vacancies on the board. The governance committee will be utilized to assist with filling vacant seats. Other items of discussion included: housing proposals, an IT solution, HPRP update, the new CSBG budget, as well as the signing of a corporate resolution for banking.

A closed session was held. There was no action taken by the board during this session.
