Crackdown on drunk driving by sheriff, other agencies

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office will be joining other Missouri law enforcement agencies around the state to crack down on drunk driving between Aug. 19 and Sept. 5, 2011.

The sobering fact is that impaired driving contributes to nearly 30% of all Missouri traffic fatalities. In 2010, 234 people were killed and 957 seriously injured in crashes involving an impaired driver.
