A six-year-old girl received minor injuries when she was a passenger in a pickup involved in an accident at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, in Daviess County.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kermit McFee, 65, Weatherby, was southbound on 128th Street, two miles northwest of Winston. Shane West, 30, Winston, was northbound on the same street. McFee’s 1999 Chevrolet Tracker was in the center of the roadway when he met West’s 1993 Ford F-150 on a curve.

The left front corner of West’s vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of McFee’s vehicle. West came to a controlled stop in the roadway. McFee rotated after impact and came to rest facing north off the west side of 128th Street.

Hailey West, a passenger in the pickup, was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was not wearing her seat belt.

Both vehicles were moderately damaged.

The accident was investigated by Cpl. L.M. Newman, assisted by Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and KAW Fire Department.
