Norma Gene Kenney, 85, of rural Higginsville, died July 19, 2011 at home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Santa Rosa, Mo., Clifton and Elzada (Johnston) Roberts.
She married Robert Wayne Kenney on Dec. 16, 1967.
Norma worked for 15 months, during WWII, building aircraft at the Kansas City Pratt and Whitney Defense Plant. She also worked as a meat wrapper for United Supers and as a homemaker.
She was a member of United Neighbors in Higginsville and the Neighborhood Club in Jameson, Mo.
She is preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Charles, Byron and David Roberts.
She is survived by: husband: Robert; sons, Robert Estes of Kansas City, Mo., Robin Estes of Jameson, Mo., step-son, Larry Kenney; step-daughters, Roberta Harris and Gilly Ann Elsea; brother, John Roberts of Pattonsburg, Mo., George Roberts of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters: Colleen Hightree of Jameson, Mo., sister-in-law: Liz Nichols of, Gallatin, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Services, officiated by Pastor Brett Mueller, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation was one hour before services. Burial was in the City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jason and Robin Estes, Doug, Dustin and Dalton Kenney, and Damon Roberts. Memorials are suggested to DAV.
