Dear Editor:
There have been many recent “statements” made about the situation with the Pattonsburg City Council.
Some are true, some are slightly true, some are misinterpretations, and some will be decided at a later date. However, I have not written to discuss my performance or disagree with any other statements by other parties.
What I do ask is that anyone, resident or not, who wishes to know what is truly happening to attend the city council meetings. Contrary to implied information, they are all open to the public. There are limited situations when a meeting can be closed but they are defined in the Sunshine Law.
Don’t listen to the rumors — come and see for yourself. City council meetings are the second Wednesday of each month (if after the 10th) and begin at 7 p.m. all are welcome.
Wm. E. (Gene) Walker,
Pattonsburg
