The 20-Mile Trooper operations were conducted on Interstate 35, U.S. 36, 65 and 71 highways on July 1 and July 4. The 12-hour operations are designed to focus on violations of traffic laws such as following to close, speeding, and driving while intoxicated. The following are the totals from the enforcement operation:
Speed Summonses (trucks) — 4; Speed Summonses (cars) — 63; Seat Belt Summonses — 4; Child restraint Summonses — 5; Stop sign Summons — 1; Non-Moving Summonses — 17; Driver’s license Summonses — 5; Uninsured motorists Summonses — 9; Misdemeanor warrants — 2; Other misdemeanor arrests —1; Troopers also wrote 150 warnings.
