Elementary school equipment was moved from Coffey to Jameson June 28 and 29. The dates for the move were set at a meeting of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held June 20.

Options for the preschool room were discussed during the meeting. Jameson Lions club offered the building in town and the Christian Church also offered one of their classrooms. Consensus of the board was to have the preschool classroom at the school.

In other business, the resignation of Michael Smith was accepted.

Bids will be solicited for milk, diesel fuel, pest control, fire extinguisher inspections, and waste removal for next school year.

The financial statement was presented by Becky Morris.

Last year’s budget was amended to reflect actual expenditures. This year’s budget was approved.

Support staff salaries were approved.

Grant Hartley asked for the board to consider revising the policy of weighted college classes. Last year the board adopted the policy so that the dual credit colleges courses would be weighted. The board tabled the issue.

The Technology plan was approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Three trees need to be removed from Jameson school grounds.

The school board declined the opportunity to vote on the MOSIP board of directors..

CSIP was approved.

Wendell Burns had results of a guidance survey.

Mrs. Morris reported the senior trip a success.

Anna Morris was a participant and Grant Hartley went as a counselor to the Hugh Obrien Youth Leadership in Olathe, Kan.

Brittanie Southard was to go to Girls State in Warrensburg. The Jameson Lions Club sponsors this learning experience each year.

Gregg Hartley announced the elementary attendance for May was 94.23%. Elementary went to Science City May 18 and the sixth grade promotion was on May 26 with a good attendance. Both alumni association banquets were held at the schools.

Some of the teachers are going to workshops this summer in Maryville, and Trenton.

A letter of thanks was received from Pettijohn Auto, for the purchase of a suburban.

A motion was made by Jason Lewis to go into executive session to consider employee matters.

Next board meeting was set for 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18, in Jameson.
