Over 200 enthusiastic 4-H campers from Northwest Missouri participated in a wide variety of traditional and science related activities during the two weeks of camp, June 7-10 and June 14-17, at Crowder State Park, Trenton.

The 4-H youth, ages 8-13, had an opportunity to canoe at the lake, swim at the Trenton Aquatics Center, play Nukem volleyball, make ice cream, launch water bottle rockets, create leather projects, shoot archery, prepare a personal wilderness survival kit, build robots with donated Energizer batteries, target shooting with paintball guns and develop team building skills in variety of challenge games. Each camp day concluded with flag lowering, the traditional dance and a campfire.

Twenty-four Northwest Missouri 4-H teens, ages 14-18, were selected as cabin counselors based upon a process which included application, leadership and staff recommendations.

"I love camp. It’s my favorite thing I get to do in 4-H!" Because of this common sentiment, the University of Missouri Extension 4-H staff of Northwest Missouri is dedicated to helping 4-H youth build friendships and develop life skills in a safe and fun outdoor setting.

Daviess County 4-H members attending camp included: Kase Critten, Shaunessy Eaton, Libby Endicot, Amy Gingerich, Kendra Gutshall, Sky Hawkinson, Jerilyn Hoover, Jacie Hutchinson, Kince Hutchinson, Tanner Johnson, Bailee Jones, Ami Lane, Charlee Prentice, Graydee Rains, Jarod Rains, Owen Schweizer, and Chassity Smith.
