A special meeting of the Green Hills Community Action Agency (GHCAA) Board of Directors will be held at the GHCAA Area Office, 1506 Oklahoma Avenue, Trenton, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.
The meeting has been called to discuss management issues, the financial health of the agency, the current Attorney General’s monitoring, and other questions or discussion generated by open discussion.
In a recent letter to the agency, the Missouri Attorney General’s office expressed concern with the agency’s "lack of attention to financial matters and potential budget shortfalls."
The initial stage of an investigation by the Attorney General’s office is underway to determine if GHCAA improperly spent funds from government contracts and restricted donations.
The Attorney General’s office is giving the board a chance to assist its office by providing information before it considers any type of legal action. That information includes board minutes, audits, budgets, contracts and agreements, and several other items.
