Sheriff’s Office
Five burglaries in Jamesport were reported to the sheriff’s office last week. The burglaries occurred at Downhome Gifts and Crafts, Jerry’s Garage and C-Store, Pappy’s Hometown Café, and Country Cupboard, which was broken into twice. Four of the burglaries occurred the evening of June 9 and were discovered when business employees arrived at work the next morning.
The first burglary at Country Cupboard occurred sometime between June 5 and June 7. The east door had been kicked open. A DVR which recorded surveillance video and $225 cash were stolen.
The second burglary was reported on June 10. When owner Cindy Eaton came to work, she found the east door kicked open again. Three security cameras were stolen, and a safe was moved from a back closet to the kitchen area.
At Pappy’s Cafe, when Carolyn Stark arrived for work on June 10, she found $150 in quarters missing, as well as two $5 bills. The door to the office had also been kicked open. Entry was gained through a window on the west side of the business.Roger Hanson of Downhome Gifts and Crafts reported a burglary at the building he leases at 115 East Auberry Grove in Jamesport. He discovered the back door open when arrived at work on June 10 and $20 taken from the cash register.
Jerry Huston of Jerry’s Garage and C-Store, 301 S. Broadway in Jamesport, reported that he discovered the front door of his business open when he arrived at work at 7:45 a.m. June 10. Missing was $300 worth of quarters and four cases of pop.
Patty Vicenti, 38, Trenton, was arrested June 11 for passing misdemeanor bad checks. She posted $5,250 bond.
Alison Chitwood, 31, Lee’s Summit, was arrested June 11 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $1,000.
Jeremy Stickler, 28, Harrah, Okla., was arrested June 10 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He posted $750 bond.
Kristina Williams, 32, Jamesport, was arrested June 11 for misdemeanor domestic assault third degree. She posted $750 bond.
Bond was revoked for Zachariah Oneal, 20, Trenton, on June 13. Bond was set at $50,000.
Donald Rice, 26, Jameson, was arrested June 11 for failure to appear on original misdemeanor charges of no valid license and possession of marijuana. He posted $2,600 bond.County Commission
Joseph Billings, representing the International Academy of Science, met with the commission regarding the lease of the county building on Johnson Street. A 10-year lease agreement was executed.
The clerk reported that notice was received of the resignation of the Grand River Township Clerk. No replacement was suggested.
The commission reviewed and completed the annual insurance renewal questionnaire, for an August renewal.
David Allen, bridge department, met with the commission regarding progress in brush cutting in Jackson Township. He will move to Jamesport Township next.
Bob Burnett, Snyder & Associates, contacted the commission requesting that the semifinal inspection for BRO project 31, in Grand River Township, be held Friday morning.
The commissioners filed their certificates of training for 2011.
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with the commission to review road and bridge reports. They will be checking area roads and culverts for damages following heavy rains in the north and east part of the county.
Bills were audited and paid.
In the afternoon, the commission inspected roads and bridges in Jamesport and Lincoln Townships, finding that repairs are needed. James Lewis was contacted and will inspect tomorrow.

Circuit Court
Judge Thomas Chapman presided over the following cases on June 7:
A warrant was issued for Margo W. Smith for failure to appear on an original felony charge of passing bad checks. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
Jamie Jo Lee admitted probation violations on an original charge of possession of controlled substance. The suspended imposition of sentence was revoked, and she was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections.
Raelynn M. Sapp admitted probation violations on an original charge of delivering controlled substance at correctional facility. The suspended imposition of sentence was revoked, and she was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections.
Manuel Joseph Canchola was taken into custody for a probation violation on an original charge of DWI, aggravated offender. Bond was denied.
Curtis L. Franklin, was taken into custody for a probation violation on an original charge of no valid license, third and subsequent offense. Bond was set at $1,000 cash only.
The jury trial for Roger F. Price was reset to Sept. 14-15, on three felony charges of child molestation.
Darrell J. Palmer plead guilty to stealing, class D felony, amended from stealing motor vehicle. He received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation, 21 days shock jail time with credit for time served.
A jury trial was set for Ernest W. Rash for Nov. 10, 2011, on charges of DWI aggravated offender.
Jeffrey Andrew Lowry plead guilty to stealing, and a sentence assessment report was ordered.
Davin R. Lucassen and Timothy Wayne Mozingo each plead guilty to an amended charge of property damage, class B misdemeanor. Each received a suspended imposition of sentence and two years probation.
Brenda Lee Stark had previously plead guilty to no valid license. She was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended. She received five years probation and 10 days shock time.
John W. Babbitt plead guilty to two counts of no valid license, and a sentence assessment report was ordered.
Cases bound over from Associate Division to Circuit Court: State vs. Trevor Scott Denton, Chillicothe, change of venue from Livingston County, assault second degree, class C felony; unlawful use of weapon, class D felony; resisting arrest, class D felony.
