Gwendolyn Maxine McFee Shultz, 73, of Olathe, Kan., passed away May 25, 2011 at KU Medical Center. Memorial Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan., 913-856-7111. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. before the service. Graveside Inurnment will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Winston Cemetery, Winston, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to "Missys’ Boutique" at the University of Kansas Cancer Center (an appearance center for patients with breast cancer). Maxine was born July 18, 1937 in Gallatin, MO to Sidney and Delores Elaine (Smith) McFee. She graduated from Gallatin High School and the Cameron Community Hospital LPN Nursing Program. Maxine married Glen Eldon Shultz on Aug 4, 1975 in Miami, OK. She lived in Cameron, MO, De Soto, KS, Gardner Lake and had been in Olathe for the last ten years. As a LPN, she spent the majority of her career as a Physician’s Assistant in the field of podiatry. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Maxine enjoyed gardening, cooking and fishing. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen "John" Shultz in 2002, parents Delores and Sidney McFee and brother Leo Don McFee. Maxine is survived by her sons Rick Heldenbrand and wife Daryle of Lee’s Summit, MO, Randy Heldenbrand and wife Beckie of Olathe and Ron Heldenbrand of Olathe; grandsons Ryan Heldenbrand and Frank Newell; great grandson Peyton Newell; sister Diann Burress and husband Richard of Platte City, MO and step-brother Charles Baker and wife Pat of Parkville, MO; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
