Trash bid proposals from Veolia, Rapid Removal, and R&W Container were reviewed at the regular meeting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen held May 9.
Daniel Phipps represented Veolia and Storm Ramos represented Rapid Removal. A decision regarding the trash service is expected to be made at the next city meeting on Monday, May 23, according to City Administrator Zac Johnson.
Police Chief Richards submitted a report on activity from April 25 to May 9. The following reports were taken and tickets given: two accidents; one child neglect; one window tint check, two business alarms; three suspicious people; two vehicle lockouts; one vehicle alarm; one welfare check; four medical assists; one suspicious person with gun; one felony warrant assisting Daviess County; one building search due to reported illegal activity; three fire calls; one domestic assault; one beyond parental control; three building alarms at school; two dogs at large; one home lockout; one missing juvenile; two harassment by phone; one peace disturbance; There are no dogs in the pound.
Bills in the amount of $111,765.05 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on building permits, the pool, a water service line on W. Elm and the water plant.

Johnson stated that the city crews have been very busy with several water main breaks, the pool, and new lights at the park.
