The Gallatin R-5 School District was among 43 schools throughout Northwest Missouri to be recognized recently for their outstanding results on the Annual Performance Report, compiled by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This school improvement model recognizes schools that have promoted the achievement of students through success in testing on core subjects on the annual MAP tests.

The banquet was held on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University. Attending from the district were Gallatin Board of Education President Brice Terry, Superintendent Dennis Croy, and Principals Toni Cox and Chris Elbert. The dinner and awards ceremony was hosted by the Northwest RPDC and its director, Becky Baldwin. Presenting the plaques were Northeast District DESE supervisor Larry Price and DESE representative Alan Stephens.

Other county schools recognized included Pattonsburg and Winton. Jamesport resident, Sally Minnick, who is retiring from her position with RPDC, was honored for her years of service as well. [Submitted Photo]
