The Gallatin FFA Chapter was recognized at two local award banquets last week.

Six members of the chapter were invited to attend the Northwest Missouri State University’s Ag Awards Banquet held at St Gregory’s Catholic Church in Maryville last Tuesday.
Members were invited based on individual and team performance at district ag contests. Gallatin FFA members received medals and plaques for their accomplishments and were recognized at this annual event held by the Agriculture Department of the University.
Members being recognized were as follows. District winning Agronomy Team: Robbie Carder, Isaac Mattis, Garrett McNeely, and Mitchell Vanderslice. Robbie Carder was also recognized as the high individual in the competition. Megan Beck was recognized as being the third high individual in the Entomology contest, and Breanne Brammer was recognized as being the third high individual in the Dairy Cattle Judging competition and as the district winner in the Extemporaneous Speaking competition.
The members enjoyed a dinner prepared by the university and presentation of awards with Chris Henderson, Gallatin FFA advisor, and parents.
The Gallatin FFA Chapter had 17 members recognized last Wednesday at the annual Area 2 Awards Night, held at the Performing Arts Center of Chillicothe High School. Students and parents from across the area were in attendance for this event which recognized the achievements of FFA members from throughout the year in proficiency awards, area and state degrees, and record book, officer book and speaking competition.
The following is a list of students who were recognized at the event. Seniors Breanne Brammer, Len Deutschman, Bryan Johnson, Myrick McLey, Rebecca Mott, and Danielle Ness; Juniors, Jacob Bell, Kristin Critten, and Riley Vanatta; Sophomores Kelsey Bird, Hannah Boyd, Dexter Daniel, Kevin Eaton, and Garrett McNeely; Freshman Kirbie Crouse, Mary King, and Grace Von Opitz. In all there were 24 members from Gallatin in attendance with their Advisors Chris Henderson and Wes Strange.
