Rachel was born on July 15, 1925 in Pattonsburg, Mo., to Alvin and Vernie (Cane) Ramey.
She married Edward Hiley on Feb. 22, 1948 and resided in Winston where she was a homemaker.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Marion and Clayton Ramey and sisters, Sylvia, May, Goldie and Neomia.
Survivors: one daughter, Sharon Appley, Gallatin; eight grandchildren, Hobart Hiley, Winston, Ron Hiley, Altamont, Chris Hiley, Gallatin, Mike Hiley, Gallatin, Charles Appley, Altamont, Alan Appley, Osborn; two granddaughters, Angel Nicholson, Beale AFB, Calif., Jackie Turner, Gallatin, one sister, Lois Frazier, Cameron, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Stroup-Thompson Chapel, Winston.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evening in Winston at the funeral home.
Burial: Winston Cemetery
