Sheriff’s Office
Zachariah O’Neal, 20, Trenton, was arrested March 24 on two counts of possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, class B felonies, and a misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia. During a traffic stop on U.S. 69 near Route BB in Daviess County, Trooper A.K. Griffin discovered marijuana, hydromorphone hydrochloride pills, and hypodermic needles in O’Neal’s backpack in a probable cause search. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
Thomas Lambert of Pattonsburg reported March 29 that a game camera had been stolen from his property during the first week of March. The camera was valued at $96.
On March 25, Opal and Bruce Lucassen of Winston reported that their 1996 Mazda Miata had been damaged at the Winston Truck Stop. The vehicle was towed from the truck stop on Feb. 22. The damage was approximately $2,000.
Michael Darnell, 36, Braymer, was arrested March 27 for probation and parole violations on Ray County charges of burglary second degree and delivering controlled substance to a jail, and two counts of non-support in Caldwell County.
Timothy Ryan, 29, Cowgill, was arrested March 27 for misdemeanor DWI. He was processed, held for 12 hours and released. A summons was issued.
Timothy Waters, 53, Jamesport, was arrested March 26 for misdemeanor DWI. He was processed, held for 12-hour detoxification, and a summons was issued.
County Commission
Notice was received from Annie Gibson, prosecuting attorney, reporting on the status of a case involving county property. Three men were arrested for cutting steel beams from a county bridge on March 8.
A response from the circuit judge assigned to the change of venue civil case was received, informing the commission that the loser will be assessed all costs.
Alvin Franks, Sheridan Township, met with the commission for clarification on Federal Emergency Management Agency forms.
Danny Heldenbrand reported that he had attended the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission’s Transportation Advisory Committee meeting on March 25.
David Cox and Randy Sims attended the regional jail meeting on March 25.
Senator Brad Lager met with the commission discussing current fiscal matters and pending legislation.
The commission discussed the status of a private road in Jefferson Township near the race track. If the landowner brings the roadway up to specifications and the township board agrees to accept the road, the county will add said road to the CART program.
James Lewis, Road and Bridge Supervisor, met with the Commission reporting that they will make repairs in Salem Township this week.
Bills were audited and paid.

Circuit Court
The following cases were heard by Judge Thomas Chapman on March 23 and March 28:
Kristopher Alan Powers was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended, on March 28, for tampering with motor vehicle first degree. He received five years probation and 120 days shock jail time.
In Dawn Davis vs. Double D Dixon Inc., an employment discrimination case, a jury trial was set for Sept. 7-8.
In a personal injury case, Quentin Barclift by next friend vs. Jodie Jones, a structured settlement was approved and judgment entered for Dan Talbert as next friend of Quentin Barclift.
A jury trial was set for August 10-11-12 in a personal injury case filed in 2005, Terry L. Karr and Betty Karr vs. Danny L. Ebersold.
A dissolution of marriage was granted to Brandon Lee Robb from Tara Renee Robb. Her former name Hendrix was restored.
A dissolution of marriage was granted to Elizabeth N. Rumsower from Michael S. Rumsower. Her former name Clevenger was restored.
Cases bound over from the Associate Division to the Circuit Court: State vs. Brenda Lee Stark, driving while revoked, class D felony.
Civil cases filed: Certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, were filed by the Missouri Department of Revenue against Daniel F. Froman and against Stephen Allen. Transcript judgments were filed by the Division of Employment Security against Barney R. Esbeck, and against Daniel Froman.
Associate Division
