This concert is sponsored by the Grundy County Friends of the Arts and will feature the unmistakable sounds of classic country music. Brad Perry, singing as "B.P. Willie", will feature a lineup of songs by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and many more. You will be sure to hear a song that will make you want to sing along.

Perry, the son of Harold and Mildred Perry, grew up near Trenton. He graduated from Trenton High School and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, on a football scholarship. He currently owns his own commercial electrical company and lives in Columbia. Brad has a son, Ben; a daughter, Jordan; and a step-daughter, Lindsey.

Coming from parents who are very musical (playing the mandolin, banjo, guitar and piano) was a definite plus for Brad. He began singing and playing the guitar at age nine. His mother, Millie, taught him guitar chords at this early age, starting the journey to being a musician.

Brad was inspired by Willie Nelson back in the 1970’s when he heard "The Outlaws" album. As a child riding the Pleasant View R-6 school bus, singing on his way to school, someone told him he sounded "just like" Willie Nelson; and now, his fans, young and old, tell him he sounds "exactly like" Willie Nelson! For 40 years, Perry has been perfecting Nelson’s showmanship and guitar skills. He and his band have played throughout Missouri, sharing their unique skills, distinguished guitar sounds, and replicated Willie Nelson twang.

Perry has also enjoyed many opportunities to sing with Willie on his famous bus, "Honeysuckle Rose." Both entertainers were thrilled to meet one another and have enjoyed many mutual friends. Willie has enjoyed Perry’s performances through the years and Brad considers Willie Nelson a personal hero, from a musical standpoint, and is quick to give him credit for his musical interests.

Students (ages 13-18) will be admitted for half-price; children (12 and under) will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
