A Princeton man was fatally injured in an accident that happened at about 5:50 p.m. on March 3.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report, Denton Porter, 77, Princeton, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram westbound on US 136, six miles west of Princeton. Amanda McLain, 32, Princeton, was driving a 2006 Mercury southbound on Route B. At the intersection Ms. McLain pulled into the path of Mr. Porter’s vehicle and was struck broadside.
After impact, McLain’s vehicle overturned, crossed the intersection, and came to rest on its side just off the southwest corner of the intersection. Mr. Porter’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels at the Northwest corner of the intersection, blocking the roadway.
Mr. Porter was pronounced dead at Heartland Regional Medical Center by Dr. Chau Nguyen.
McLain was seriously injured and transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center by Life-Flight Eagle Helicopter.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. D.P. Little, assisted by Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Mercer County Ambulance, Mercer County First Responders, Life-Flight Eagle, and Life-Net.
