Within the past three weeks there has been an increase in the number of lab confirmed and institutional outbreaks of influenza in at least half of the CDC’s regions.
Daviess county has had a total of 14 confirmed influenza cases since Jan. 1. There were 10 confirmed Influenza A and four confirmed Influenza B.
The Health Department has several doses of flu vaccine available for ages three years and up. A donation of $15 is suggested or Medicaid or Medicare can be billed if applicable. Flu shots will be given from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays or by appointment.
Your best defense against the influenza is to get vaccinated. It’s still not too late.
