Funeral services for Gladys Larason were held Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Bethel Church, northwest of Princeton. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service, Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Cemetery in lieu of flowers and mailed to Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service, P.O. Gladys Beulah Larason, 94, Lake Viking, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the Liberty hospital. Gladys was born in Harrison County, near Cainsville, on Aug. 27, 1916, to Eanice Orren and Esther Dale (Hawk) Eastin.
She was united in marriage to Leland Dunn Larason on April 4, 1936. He survives of the home at Lake Viking near Gallatin.
Gladys attended the Cavanaugh rural school in Mercer County, where she lived her entire life until five years ago when she and Leland moved to Lake Viking.
She was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist church, a 4-H leader, and president of the Mercer County Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arthur Garland and Roscoe Basil Eastin; and by a son-in-law, Ed Hammond.
Other survivors include one son, Norman Larason of Gallatin; two daughters, Sharon Hammond of Blue Springs, and Joyce Goold of Canon City, Colo.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
