Hazel A. Kennedy Crenshaw, age 98 of Joplin, Mo., passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Spring River Christian Village.

She was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Burlington Junction, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William H. McGee and Mary T. Whitt McGee, and had lived in Joplin since 1975. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and an insurance agent in both Hume and Anderson, Mo. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church, and an over 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Past Worthy Matron.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Gerald A. Kennedy, a husband, Jack B. Crenshaw, and a son, Jerry Kennedy.

Survivors include a brother, James McGee of Springfield, Mo; daughter-in-law, Esther Kennedy, Blue Springs, Mo.; two nieces and a nephew.

Services were held Sun., Jan. 20 at Spring River Christian Village, Joplin. Private interment was in Newton Burial Park, Nevada, Mo.
