On Jan. 29, the Gallatin USA Youth Wrestlers traveled to Lawson to compete in a trophy tournament. It was a very good day for the club with 14 wrestlers and 14 trophies. Those bringing home first place trophies were: Cole Henderson, Keegan Allen, Gage Wright and Graydee Rains. Second place winners were: Brinley Vandiver and Draven Wright (six and under). Third place winners were: Andon Allen, Gabe Allen, Koleby McClintick, Chase Moulton, Nick Widner, Draven Wright ( eight and under), Klayton Lynch and Colt Faragher. The club also came home with 17 wins by pins out of the 33 wins for the day.
After a week off the team traveled to Excelsior Springs this past weekend to compete in the largest tournament so far this year. There were 10 mats going all day with approximately 695 wrestlers competing. The club brought home seven medals. Cole Henderson came home with a first. Gage Wright came home with a second. Third place winners were: Brinley Vandiver and Keegan Allen. Those bringing home fourth place medals were: Koleby McClintick, JJ Waters and Graydee Rains. The club had 28 wins for the day and 16 of the wins were pins. The next tournament will be Sunday, Feb. 20, at Plattsburg.
This week the Red Wheel order will be in and the wrestlers will begin delivering. The club appreciates those who ordered and supported the Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club.
